Key Achievements So Far

1. SHG Formation and Nurturing : Under the scheme of SGSY supported by DRDA, Nalanda, we have formed 325 groups of underprivileged women in Hilsa and Tharthari blocks in Nalanda district in Bihar. All the SHGs have saving accounts. About 80 percent of the SHGs have credit linkages under SGSY scheme. They are earning their livelihood through loans from banks and also repaying it successfully.
2. Basic Orientation Training to SHGs: So far, we have trained 395 SHGs in Ekangarsarai block in Nalanda district. In this training program, SHG members were trained in maintenance of group norms, book keeping and accountancy. The program was supported by DRDA, Nalanda.
3. AXSHYA Project: We are implementing awareness programs on Tuberculosis with the support of MAMTA health institute for mother & child, New Delhi. Under the program, awareness interventions are organized through community meetings with Village Health and Sanitation Committee, PRI, Social Activists and Community Members on Tuberculosis, Collecting sputum of suspects, transportation of sputum for test to concern DMC and Co-ordinating with government hospitals /DMCs and DOTS Centre, Advocacy with TB patients and treatment of positive patients of tuberculosis. TB: Activities:
   
   1. Survey of Community and Refferal of Identified suspects on the Basis of survey.
   2. Meeting witrh community, VHSC, PRI, Social Activists,DOTS Provider, ANM& Health Worker.
   3. Collection of Sputam of Suspects.
   4. Transportation of Sputam to Concern DMC for Test and attachement with Dots Provider of Positive Patients.
   5. Management of DOTS Provider,if needed.
   6. Advocacy with TB Patients.
   7. Retrival and Advocacy of defaulter Patients.
   8. M id-media Actvities & Wall Writing.
4. Improving Reproductive and Sexual Health of Young People: Awareness camps are organized in the villages on the right age of marriage by explaining the disadvantages, loss of health and risk of life due to early marriages. This program is supported by MAMTA health institute for mother & child, New Delhi.
5. Health and Family Welfare Program: : Number of health check up camps and eye camps are organized for poor people in Nalanda. Poor and vulnerable group of the society have been benefited by free cataract operations in these camps. We are also organizing VISIO PLUS program for old age people.
6. Health and Sanitation Program: Under the scheme of total sanitation campaign, awareness programs are organized on safe drinking water, health and sanitation in all the villages of Tharthari block. So far, 9,556 low cost toilets have been constructed by us.We are working as :
   1. To accelerate sanitation coverage in rural areas.
   2. To generate felt demand for sanitation facilities through awareness creation and health education.
   3. To cover schools/Anganwadis in rural areas with sanitation facilities.
   4. To bring improvements in general quality of life in rural areas.
   5. To encourage cost effective and appropriate technologies in sanitation etc.
7. Awareness Program against HIV/AIDS The organization organized community meeting to aware the people against HIV/AIDS through:
   • Condom promotion
   • Management of Sexually transmitted infections
   • Needle Exchange Programme / oral substitution therapy (for creating an enabling Environment
   • Behaviour Change Communication (BCC)
8. Awareness Program against Kalazar & Malaria The organization organized community meeting to aware the people against Kalazar & Malaria Using safe drinking water,using toilets and using monsquito nets, in different villages of Hilsa Block in Nalanda Distt,Bihar.
9. Crèche Program: Under the scheme of Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi, we are implementing 03 crèche centers for the benefits of children of the working women.

11. School Running Program: A school is running since six years for the children of deprieved & poor people of the society from class one to eight named 'Saraswati Residential Public School Chambhera' in Ekangar Saray Block of Nalanda Distt affiliated with S S A Nalanda.
12. NAEC: Organization is conducting awareness campaign under national awareness environmental campaign for last 10 years. The program is supported by Ministry of Environment & Forest, New Delhi.
13. Total Literacy Campaign: The organization has implemented Total Literacy Campaign in Hilsa block through "Zila Sakcharta Samiti, Nalanda" supported by National Literacy Authority Mission. So far 26,308 illiterate people in the age group of 15 to 35 years have become literate. On the basis of its excellent performance, the organization was awarded "Akshhar Shree Award" by the Chief Minister of Bihar on 7th March, 2008
14. YOGA FOR ALL : Our organization organized several seminars to organize and empower the people about YOGA to live healthy life.
15. Skill Development Program: Lok Sevashram Chiksaura have organized skill development training program in different trades like Shorthand Typing, Food Processing, Beautician, Pumpset-Generater Repairing, Sewing-Cutting, SoftToys Making, Motor Vehicle Driving, Fetter Welder, Carpentry, Production of Vermi Compost, Home Nursing Attendent and in different trades of Computer for rural & urban unemployed youths.
    Most of them are earning through their skills for families.
16. Evaluation of AnganBadi, NAREGA & Survey of Resque Child Labour: Such Program has been organized with support of Save the Children during 2014-15 in Block Hilsa & Karay-Parsuray.

• 325 SHGs have been formed in Hilsa and Tharhari blocks	• All members of SHG are involved in income generation activities . Other poor women are also forming SHGs as the replication of the program

• 4,200 children are immunized and 775 cataract operation are done	• Women have developed benefits of the immunization of children and till now all immunized children are healthy.All cataract operated people are working themselves without the assistance of others
• 3,556 low cost toilet are constructed for the poor and socially excluded people	• All beneficiaries are using toilets regularly and occurrence of diseases due to health and hygiene has considerably reduced
• 75 children are benefited each year through crèche centres	• Better nursing to the target children
• 13,308 people between the age of 15 to 35 have been fully literate	• Good environment towards literacy in the area has developed and people are now sending their children to the schools
